The Two Babylons by Scottish minister Alexander Hislop is an informative 1853 religious text that argues the Roman Catholic Church is not a Christian institution, but rather a corrupted continuation of ancient Babylonian pagan mystery cults. Hislop’s work traces various Catholic rites, doctrines, and traditions all the way back to the worship of a biblical figure Nimrod, and his wife, Semiramis.
